Brooklyn, 1955. The siren call of the gangster life is too great for Henry Hill, a boy of mixed Irish-Italian descent. Fast cars, sharp suits, the reverence of everyone around him — this is the life he dreams of. Working initially as an errand boy for local Italian mobsters, Henry gradually rises in the ranks of the underworld, establishing his loyalty and cunning. In the process, he gains the trust of the feared mobster Paulie Cicero and forms a close relationship with the volatile criminals friendly thief Jimmy Conway and the hot-headed Tommy DeVito. But as Henry becomes drawn deeper into the life of crime, the glamour wears off, leaving behind a world of betrayal, danger, and lethal ambition.
