The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Overview
In Middle-earth’s Second Age, rings of great power are forged for elves, dwarves, and men — though one, the One Ring, is made in secret by the dark lord Sauron to rule them all. As the Third Age begins, following Sauron’s initial defeat, the Ring goes missing for centuries, threading its way through fates until it ultimately falls into the hands of a seedling hobbit, one Bilbo Baggins. When Bilbo leaves the Shire for good, his nephew Frodo inherits the Ring, sparking an epic quest to destroy it before Sauron re-emerges in strength. And with dark forces on their heels, and unlikely allies clicking behind their hooves, Frodo and the Fellowship must brave treacherous landscapes, treachery, and temptation if they are to save Middle-earth from eternal darkness.
