Biography

Ahmed Hamidi (in Arabic: احمد حميدي), is a Franco-Algerian screenwriter and director, notably known for being one of the authors of Guignols de l'info from 2000 to December 2008. He is the brother of the director and director Mohamed Hamidi.

Ahmed Hamidi meets Kader Aoun at the Parisian concept store Colette where he is a joker-waiter. The godfather of shadowy authors takes him with him to Canal+, and tests him on the writing of Omar and Fred's sketches in the Visiophon, and on a sequence from Nulle Part Ailleurs. Canal + validates I young author, and Ahmed joined Les Guignols De L'Info for ten years from 2000 to December 2008. He then led, from January to March 2009, the team of authors of the humorous show Canal Pratique, presented by Virginie Efira.

He is the director of Jules-Édouard Moustic's one-man show (from the Groland team) "Moustic En Gros" in 2008. In 2011 and 2012, he is co-author of "Marrakech Du Rire" with Jamel Debbouze, Fatsah Bouyahmed and Habib Kadi.

From 2013, Ahmed Hamidi's career shifted towards cinema, he is a dialogue writer, adapter on the script of the film "La Marche" by Nabil Ben Yadir. Many films followed, as a screenwriter, including Why I Didn't Eat My Father by Jamel Debbouze (2015), Gilles Lellouche's first feature film, Le Grand Bain, released in 2018...

He stages Redouanne Harjane's two one-man shows "Redouanne À La Cigale" and "Redouanne Est Harjane".

In 2022, he directed his first feature film inspired by Laurel and Hardy entitled “Le Médecin Imaginaire”, with Alban Ivanov, Fatsah Bouyahmed, Clotilde Courau, Smaïn and Booder. The film is released on April 27, 2022.

In 2024, Ahmed Hamidi co-directs with Martin Fougerol the film "Golo & Ritchie", a documentary on the two eponymous social media celebrities. The film was released in August of the same year. Also in 2024, he is co-writer of the film "L'Amour Ouf" by Gilles Lellouche with Adèle Exarchopoulos, François Civil, Alain Chabat, Benoît Poelvoorde...
