Biography

Ben Lovett is a songwriter and composer of film music from the United States. Since scoring the Independent Spirit Award-nominated thriller THE SIGNAL in 2007, Lovett has composed original music for a diverse range of breakthrough films including Netflix's THE RITUAL, Searchlight Pictures' THE NIGHT HOUSE, and Hulu's reimagining of Clive Barker's HELLRAISER from director David Bruckner; Jim Cummings' tragicomedy THE WOLF OF SNOW HOLLOW (Orion Classics); Amy Seimetz's critically acclaimed drama SUN DON'T SHINE (Factory 25); Emma Tammi's haunted western THE WIND (IFC Films); Katie Aselton's survival thriller BLACK ROCK (Lion’s Gate); and Jacob Gentry's time travel noir SYNCHRONICITY (Magnolia Pictures) which earned Ben a nomination for "Discovery of the Year" at the prestigious World Soundtrack Awards. Lovett's extensive catalog of credits also include scores for Jim Cummings’ comedy THE BETA TEST (IFC), Christopher Alender's THE OLD WAYS (Netflix); Erin Derham's colorful taxidermy documentary STUFFED; Jacob Gentry's BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION (Dark Sky), and the original series TOMORROW'S MONSTERS (iHeart Radio). Ben's works for television include scores for the award-winning ESPN documentary series 30 for 30; the Hulu original series INTO THE DARK; MTV's horror comedy trilogy MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET SIXTEEN; and Cartoon Network's TOONAMI and ADULT SWIM.
