Robert Allman

Biography

Robert Allman is a visual effects supervisor at Framestore. He earned his MA in Computer Animation from London Guildhall in 1997 and began his career that same year at Mill Film. There, he contributed to major blockbusters including Gladiator (2000), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002).

Rob later joined Framestore as a Technical Director, returning to the wizarding world to work on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and leading CG sequences for The Goblet of Fire (2005). His career progressed further at Prime Focus, where he took on the role of CG Supervisor for projects such as Mirror Mirror (2012) and Poltergeist (2015).

Rejoining Framestore, Rob played a key role in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), launching a long-running collaboration with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As CG Supervisor, he brought his technical precision to Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). His early pre-production work on Endgame was crucial in developing the machine-learning system used to create ‘Smart Hulk’—a testament to his innovative thinking and deep technical knowledge.

Rob has since served as VFX Supervisor on Dolittle (2020), and high-profile titles including The Little Mermaid (2023), Wonka (2023), Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025).
